Shared bills calculator / Free to use

Split the bills.
See your share.

Half each, your own percentages, or a split based on income. Try the numbers and find a starting point you can both talk about.

One period. One currency.

What are you sharing?

The $900 bill total is an example. Replace it with your own.

Use one currency and the same period throughout. Up to two decimal places; no thousands separators. The $ sign is illustrative.

How would you like to split it?

You each take 50% of the shared bills.

Already put some money in? Optional

Enter contributions for the same period to compare them with each person’s share. Leave blank if you only want the split.

Equal split / 50–50

Here’s your
starting point.

An illustration—not your bank balance or a transfer instruction. One person’s extra doesn’t automatically settle the other’s share.

A little context

The numbers, in plain language.

Choose together

Equal means half each. Custom uses percentages you agree on. Income-based uses each person’s proportion of your combined take-home pay—not a rule about what you should pay.

Compare the approaches

Share isn’t contribution

Your share is the part of the bills allocated to you. Your contribution is what you’ve put in. If your share is $360 and you’ve contributed $280, you’re $80 below that share.

A snapshot, not a ledger

This tool leaves out earlier balances, individual bills, timing, carried credit and credit-use choices. The app uses your household’s recorded activity. This calculator is separate and isn’t financial advice.

Ready to talk through more than the numbers? The Money Date conversation kit helps you discuss which bills to share, when to contribute and when to check in again.
